Description

Offered for your playing and listening pleasure is a superb and somewhat unique instrument from the Martin Custom Shop, a slope shouldered, 00-sized, 14 fret, short-scale beauty. I'm told that this guitar is one of just four that were built for the 2019 NAMM show.

This is a 14-fret 00-sized instrument with sloped shoulders, a 24.9" string scale and 2-3/32" string spacing. It has an Adirondack Spruce top with scalloped/Golden Era style Adirondack bracing. The back and sides are made of lovely dark Ziricote, a species that many builders are turning to as a more sustainable replacement for Brazilian and Madagascar rosewood. It has European flamed maple binding on the body, neck and headstock along with a herringbone rosette and purfling. The satin-finished neck has Martin's sleek Modified Low Oval carve for those who like prefer smaller necks. It has an ebony fretboard with a 16" radius, a 1-3/4" bone nut and long pattern abalone inlays. It has an ebony belly bridge with a drop-in compensated bone saddle. It also has a two-way truss rod and bone pins with faux tortoise dots. A photo of the detailed spec sheet is included herein.

This is one beautiful instrument and it plays even better than it looks! It's short scale and modest body size make it really comfortable to play. The tone is surprisingly big and open for such a small instrument. It's voice is balanced and warm with sparkling highs and very strong mids. Listen to the short sound sample provided. It is a lightly built instrument that is super-responsive and highly resonant. Strummer or fingerpicker, this guitar will quickly become one of your favorite guitars! Please check out the brief sound sample included below.

This beauty has seen little, if any, play and is in near new condition. I find no flaws of any significance and the frets are flawless. It comes in it's original Geib-style Martin case along with the uninstalled end pin, the original paperwork and the detailed spec sheet.

Prices of guitars continue to sky-rocket because of both materials and labor increases. Get this lovely and 'as new' little Martin at what is sure to be less than a new example would cost you. Click the 'Buy Now' button and make this fabulous little Martin yours!
