2016 Martin Custom 00-16 Koa Natural Satin

DESCRIPTION
For your consideration a 2016 Martin Custom 00-16 Koa in a Natural Satin finish. What an awesome Custom 00-16! This was special ordered with Koa back and sides. Koas conservation status is at “least concern” which means you can only use trees that have already fallen, making it very difficult to manufacture instruments from this wood. Martin must have gotten a small batch and some lucky customer was able to get this amazing instrument built!

Specs! This guitar is all original its only modification was an added K&K pick up with a correlating output jack where the end pin was located. It is in very good condition and comes with its original hard shell case. There is a little bit of binding separation. Grover Sta-Tite tuner. Koa overlay on head stock. Unbleached bone nut with a 1-11/16″ width. Mahogany neck with a depth of .80″ at the first fret and 1.00″ at the twelfth fret. It has a 25.4″ scale length. Rosewood fingerboard with a 16″ radius. Action set very low at the 4/64″ on the bass side and 3/64″ on the treble side. Original 20 small vintage style frets are in excellent condition. Custom ordered Koa back and sides with a solid spruce top finished in a Natural satin finish. Rosewood bridge with a bone saddle. Maple bridge plate. Weighs 3 pounds and 10 ounces.

What an extremely cool custom order! The koa gives this guitar a beautiful top sparkle and a tight focused midrange push. The more its played the more it will open up! The satin finish is a great change of pace and give this instrument a vintage feel. Action is set super low! Great for some faster finger style pickin or an individual with a light touch. Very versatile instrument but shines in the old time, blues, jazz idioms. A beautiful build that plays and sounds like a dream!
