Description

Offered for sale is this marvelous Martin Custom Shop 000-28 completed in 2015. Check out the incredible set of Guatemalan Rosewood on this beauty!

This is a 14-fret 000-sized instrument with a 24.9" string scale. It has an Adirondack Spruce top with scalloped Adirondack Golden Era bracing and a 1933 Amber Tone gloss finish. The back and sides are made of Guatemalan Rosewood that could easily pass for Madagascar or even Brazilian Rosewood. The satin-finished neck has been given Martin's Performing Artist neck shape for easy playability. It has an Ebony fretboard with a 16" radius, a 1-3/4" bone nut and Abalone inlays. The 30's style Ebony belly bridge offers 2-1/4" string spacing and a compensated bone saddle.

This is a super-easy playing instrument with it's PA neck shape, short scale length and a great setup with Elixir 80/20 light gauge strings and 9th fret string heights of 5/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side. The tone is full, balanced and clear. You can play it fingerstyle or flat pick it and it gives you what you put into it. Listen to the provided sound sample and I hope you will agree that this guitar has a great voice.

Built in 2015 this guitar could almost pass for new. Upon extremely close inspection under intense lighting you will find a few light scuffs from handling and play, but you will really have to look for this evidence. The frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's original Geib-style case, also in near mint condition.

This lightly played instrument can be yours for approximately $1,700 less than new. A fine Martin 000-14 fret at a great price!
