Description

Offered for sale is this lovely Martin Custom Shop 000-28VS just completed this month (November, 2016). Based on the 000-28VS Standard, this one-off guitar has been given a few special details.

To start, this beauty has a body that is 1/2" deeper than a typical 000 for increased output. It has also been given an upgraded Bearclaw Spruce top, a 1933 Ambertone finish and added binding and various other little cosmetic touches as compared with the Standard model. Other specs include: a 000-sized body; a Style 28 rosette with large soundhole; Indian Rosewood for the back and sides; a 12-fret Mahogany neck with a 25.34" string scale and a Modified V neck carve; a bound Black Ebony fingerboard with 16" radius and diamond/square Abalone inlays; a 1-13/16" bone nut; 2-5/16" string spacing; a bone drop-in saddle; a bound slotted headstock; and nickel Waverly tuners.

This guitar plays like a dream and is setup with 9th fret string heights of 5/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side. It has tons of headroom and is quite responsive to your playing style. The tone is nicely balanced across the tonal spectrum, with nice tight bass, lots of mids, nice clear highs and an overall tone that is warm and rich.

This guitar is just out of the factory and has seen only light test play. It shows little to no evidence of play and the frets are spotless. It ships in it's original Martin carton and comes in the similarly mint Martin Geib-style case with the paperwork. If a 12-fret Martin 000 with some nice cosmetic upgrades appeals to you, perhaps this special guitar is the one for you. Very nice indeed!
