Description

This excellent Martin Custom X guitar gives you a chance to own a genuine Martin at a great price! With a list price of “only” $999—about 1/3 the cost of a D-28--the Custom X is not a fancy guitar. However, the solid Sitka Spruce top and the high pressure laminates Martin uses in the back and sides sound outstanding, and of course they are assembled with Martin care and components.

As one guy says online, “I really like this guitar since it’s such a good deal for the price...I bought this one over Tacoma, Takamine, and Alvarez because it sounds better than the Tacoma and Alvarez and plays better than the Takamine. All were more expensive than the Martin.” The sound is really outstanding, and the built-in Fishman electronics make it even more powerful!

The Martin website explains how they accomplish this feat: “The Martin Custom X Acoustic Guitar features HPL body construction, Martin's patented neck mortise and unique DX bracing pattern to get the legendary bright sparkle and deep, resonant tone that Martin guitars have become famous for.” This particular guitar (serial number 1729238) is a model Martin made for Guitar Center in 2013, according to Martin Customer Service. You kinda have to play it and hear it to believe how good a guitar this is.

I know, it sounds pretty plain and ordinary, but here’s two more comments from actual owners on the web: “This is the best you can get for the money. I've gone to the store 3 times with $1700 in pocket and I can't replace it for that. By the time I find a guitar I like more I'm in the $2200 range.” I am confident that you will be similarly excited by the value if you just give this guitar a chance to show you what it can do.

Included is a high quality padded Yin Yuan gig bag. It fits like a glove, is in excellent condition, and everything works perfectly. The light-weight protection this case offers to this cool Martin guitar is very impressive.

Buyer pays a flat rate of $55 for insurance and shipping to the lower 48 states; shipping costs elsewhere will be negotiated as necessary. Payment by Paypal is preferred; cashiers and personal checks are acceptable, but checks must clear before the guitar will be shipped.

I have made every effort to describe and illustrate this guitar and case with scrupulous accuracy. Its return will not be accepted unless it can be shown that it was egregiously misrepresented in this listing. Please check out the pictures and ask any questions you might have before offering to purchase it.

Thank you for your interest in this solid Martin guitar.

Payments by Paypal, cashier’s checks, money orders, or personal checks are acceptable, but all payments must clear my bank before the guitar will be shipped. I will CONSIDER reasonable offers, even including installment payments and trade-ins, but generally since I already attempt to price my guitars very competitively, unusual deals must be unusually sweet.

From henceforth [that's how retired English teachers talk], insurance and shipping to the lower 48 states is $55 due to constantly rising shipping costs unless a specific listing says otherwise; shipping costs elsewhere will be negotiated as necessary. I have sold guitars to Russia, Japan, Australia, and over 50 other countries, as well as almost every state in the USA. Since some of my guitars travel thousands of miles, I take care to use lots of packing materials, protect the neck inside the case, and of course de-tune the strings.

I make every effort to describe and illustrate each guitar and case with scrupulous accuracy. However, many of my instruments are well-played vintage items which are many years old, and I am not a luthier. One should assume that any guitar will require some set-up to satisfy your personal requirements, and that not every flaw or ding will be seen/recognized/described in the listing. Thus the return of an instrument will not be accepted unless it can be shown that it was egregiously misrepresented in this listing. Please read the listing carefully, check out the pictures, and ask any questions you might have before offering to buy.
