Just In: The 2nd Martin D-18 made, just a couple after the D-1! It was ordered by Chicago Musical Instrument Co. on October 7, 1932. It was stamped on October 11, 1932 and cleared final inspection on October 22 (!). It probably shipped the same day. I wish i could say it was in all original tip top shape but I can't. It has been renecked (but still has bar frets!) and the whole guitar refinished. In my opinion, I think it was probably shot over the original finish at the factory. Some binding on side replaced. Also the bridge, bridgeplate and pickguard have been replaced. It still sounds amazing though! Even with the issues, it is still significantly important, historically. Only 13 D-18’s were made between 1931-1933. As the saying goes, find another one! A very cool piece for any Martin collection. Non original case.
