1938 Martin D-18. An incredible guitar from Martin’s golden era! This guitar has been completely restored by TJ Thompson and is a outstanding playing and sounding instrument. An old large oversized pickguard was expertly removed and a new pickguard was added. Some overspray on the top from blending the once covered area under the old pickguard. New bridge made, neck reset and re-fretted. Features and Adirondack Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides and forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing. The neck has an excellent, almost modern feeling, slimmer C-shaped profile by the nut and gradually thickens with just a subtle hint of a V-profile as you move up toward the higher frets. Roomy 1-3/4″ nut width. This guitar has a fantastic sound with a big woody tone! Fat low end, open midrange and a drier, focused top end. A fantastic picker with a superb pre-war tone! Includes original faux-alligator hardshell case.
