This is a real nice original 1944 Martin D-18. Very good original condition. The only thing that keeps it from being excellent condition is some scratches on the top of the guitar on the bass side lower bout. The scratches are through the finish but not deep into the spruce top. Original ebony fingerboard and bridge and scalloped bracing Original tuners, frets, bridge plate, bridge, tortoise pickguard, and finish. Very flat top with no evidence of bellying.
1 21/32" nut width and 1/8" string height at the 12th fret. Appears to be full thickness bridge with room to take down the bridge saddle if desired. Minor dings and scratches consistent with a 75 year old guitar but overall very nice. A lightweight guitar it sounds loud and well balanced like the best of the scalloped '40s era D-18s. A great playing and sounding guitar from one of Martins greatest eras. Come with close period correct case in excellent original condition.
