The D-18 was introduced with the D-28 in 1931, and its name was changed from D-1 to D-18 soon after.
While the D-28 uses rosewood for the sides and back, the D-18 is made of mahogany.

The D-18 Standard made in 2021 is presented here.
The simple design with tortoiseshell binding and black bridge pins seems to express the simple beauty of the acoustic guitar to the maximum extent.

This model has been modified to prewar vintage specifications since 2012.
The X-bracing is closer to the soundhole with a forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing.
Ebony bridge and fingerboard.

Comparing the sound with the D-18 before the specification change, the sound is still different.
After the specification change, the sound is softer and more expansive.
It also has a voluminous impression, and when playing arpeggios, you can enjoy a beautiful, expansive acoustic sound.

The one before the change has a cohesive chord feel and is clearer and more powerful than the one after the use change.
The difference is noticeable during strokes.

This unit is equipped with a FISHMAN Matrix Infinity VT Pickup, which also outputs a clear, natural, high quality sound.
