Description

Vintage original 1948 Martin D-28. A holy grail guitar that is a real nice example that is fairly priced.

She's got tone to die for. Has that classic Neil Young / Beatles tone. Nice and warm and vibrant and organic. An incredible recording tone.

Serial number 104557 dates the guitar to 1948 and has all the features of 1948.

Beautiful natural Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, well book matched.

She has had a professional neck set so she's playing with a perfect action. A few small filled holes on the top upper bout from buckshot, the guitar was at one point hit with the fallout from a shotgun, which left a few tiny holes in the top which were professionally filled. Not the first time we have seen this. Adds to the vibe and look of her and though I'm sure she didn't deserve it she survived and has more songs and tales to tell as a result.

The top has been professionally oversparyed and there is a patch filled where there was wear near the pickguard, the patch does not go through the top of the guitar, it is patch from where there was significant finger / play wear. There is a small side patch as pictured. No cracks, no breaks and no issues. All the work has been very professionally done. All structurally sound and ready for play.

This would be a perfect example for a professional to take on the road and have a real nice vintage Martin for stage use and recording.

Comes with a very good hard case.
