Excellent and well cared for example of a crack free, 1966 Martin D-28. Small and delicate maple bridge plate and tortoise pickguard, Patent Pending Grover Tuners, all original to the guitar. One of the last of this example with these features as black pickguards and larger rosewood bridge plates were adopted by Martin shortly after. There has only 2 owners of this guitar and the later sent the guitar back to Martin in the mid 1990’s to have the neck reset. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood back and sides and Sitka spruce top which is crack free . The guitar weighs only 4 lbs. 14oz., and has a huge acoustic voice with rich woody over tones. Back it off a little and the sound is sweet and delicate with wonderful presence. Playability is excellent and action is low which means there’s actually room to come up if desired, rather than down which is the case with older Martins. Normal finish attributes which come with a guitar of this age but nothing harsh and definitely no abuse. A great guitar, period. The guitar comes with the original case.
