Rare Hakaranda D-28 with original pickguard and original finish.

Famous acoustic guitar 'D-28'.
The body material, Hakaranda, is characterized by its calm grain and slightly reddish color.
It has the original painted black pickguard, mechanically stamped S/N, old style head logo, maple bridge plate, and Grover 102 pegs with 'PAT PEND' engraving.

The original pickguard is very rare, and the grain of the Sitka spruce seen through the top of the pickguard is very elegant.
There is a slight peeling at the top. Also, a series of numbers can be seen handwritten on the pickguard. It is believed to have been recorded by a past owner, and the ability to feel the history firsthand is an attraction not found in replacements.

The overall finish is also original and has blended well with the wood over time, further enhancing the quality of the material.

The sound is typical of this period, with a thumping bass and woody tone.
The board seems to be resonating well, and the body back also transmits a heavy vibration.
It has a very nice and rich resonance from bass to treble when played.

If you are considering a 60's D-28, this is one you should definitely pick up.

There is a crack repair on the lower part of the first string side of the body back, but it has been reinforced.
