This earliest of Indian rosewood Martin D-28s is so terrific, in every way, about makes everyone on our staff sit up and take notice every time they play it. Every time. Nicely kept since new by its original owner, it has got to be one of the very first D-28s ever to leave the Martin factory after the switch-over from Brazilian. Now for the best part: the action is excellent; this is a most fabulous flat-picking guitar and better yet, it has that super-clear, BIGGEST of loud Martin tones, an unstoppable stream of it, seems to never end. This is about the best Martin D-28 of the last forty-seven years that I’ve seen. The finish has a great patina to it, looks terrific, also shows that it’s most definitely been played, has its share of nicks and scratches but no repairs ever needed anywhere, no cracks, is rock-solid. The pickguard has been neatly replaced, common on most Martins from the late1960s-early 70s and the better for it. Hot stuff. $3295 w/bag
