Serial # 1497595. Here’s a near-mint D-28 Marquis, with one of the finest red spruce tops we’ve seen on a Marquis in quite some time. It’s a gorgeous guitar through and through, and has had a few years to develop into an exceptional sounding flatpicker as well.

Figured Indian rosewood back and sides, forward shifted scalloped-braced Adirondack spruce top, ivoroid bindings, herringbone purflings, zigzag back strip, Delmar bevelled-edge pickguard, long-saddle Golden Era style bridge and gloss lacquer finish with ever-so-slight vintage toner on the top. Modified V neck carve with 1-3/4” nut and 25.4” scale. Ebony fingerboard with diamonds and squares inlays. Old-style Martin logo, vintage style open-geared tuners, fossil ivory nut, saddle, and bridgepins.

The guitar has been set-up in our shop and plays perfectly. It’s a flawless example but for very tip of the pickguard being loose from the top. No scratches, playwear, repairs, or modifications.

With original hardshell case
