Summary: In an attempt to offer lower priced instruments, Martin's line of Shenandoah guitars were built in Japan and then shipped back to the Martin factory in Nazareth PA for painting and final assembly. The practice of bi-continental production eventually met its demise and Shenandoah's were produced entirely in Japan their final 3 years from 1994-1996. This Martin was made in 1985 and was kept in beautiful shape. There is some weather checking in the lacquer but it’s overall in excellent shape. Our in-house guitar tech has just made a new bone saddle to replace the original plastic one and has set it up with low action and a new set of 12 gauge strings. The tone, playability and craftsmanship on these guitar are really fantastic for the price. It ships in its original hard-shell case.

Body: Solid spruce top with laminate rosewood back and sides. It has a beautiful D-35 style 3 piece rosewood back, multi ply w/b/w binding on the front back, single ply tortoise guard and finished in lacquer.

Neck: The mahogany neck has a soft V profile, bound headstock, bound rosewood fingerboard, pearl dot inlays, 25” scale length and 1 11/16” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: It has a passive under-saddle pickup, ebonized rosewood bridge with bone saddle, bone nut and closed back nickel plated tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This guitar has finish checking on the body and neck, some light scuffs, scratches and dings on the body, some dings in the end of the headstock and a couple dents in the back of the neck but it is in overall great used condition with no cracks, breaks or visible repairs.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 12 gauge phosphor bronze strings and fit a compensated bone saddle to the bridge. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup medium-low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with only very minimal wear on the first 3 frets under the b string and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or chocking out.

Modifications: The original plastic saddle was replaced with a compensated bone saddle.

Weight: 4 lbs, 6 oz.

Case: This Martin comes with the original hard-shell case & we will ship it professionally packed and fully insured!
