Summary: Featuring solid East Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, this instrument is enhanced with vintage appointments found on many Martin pre-war classic guitars.

Body: Dreadnaught body shape. Solid Sitka spruce top. Solid rosewood back and sides. Grained ivoroid binding.

Neck: Mahogany. Low profile neck profile with standard taper. Diamond style volute. Ebony fingerboard with Style 45 snowflake inlays, bound with grained ivoroid. Bound headstock with “C.F. Martin” inlay. 25.4” scale length. 1 11/16” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Ebony bridge. Bone nut and compensated bone saddle. Gold open gear tuners. Tortoise guard.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition with little play wear. There are light picking scratches in the pickguard area as well as some finish wear to the back and a small finish mark on the heel of the neck.

Playability: Play is easy up its comfortable neck, set up with low action and no dead spots. Huge, classic Martin Dreadnaught sound. Massive bass response balanced with articulate highs make this D-42 a fine choice for the discerning player.
