1939 Martin F-9

1939 Martin F-9 in excellent condition. Rare from the beginning, only 78 of these were made. At the time this was Martin’s top of the line archtop. It is a unique opportunity to see an all original, unconverted F-9 especially in such fine condition. Exceptional quality Brazilian rosewood back and sides, abalone hexagonal inlay, Grover tuners with individual hand engraving, Grover tailpiece, original celluloid pickguard, tortoise peghead overlay with CF Martin inlay, original sunburst finish. No history of any major repairs. 100% crack free. Comes with a letter written by CF Martin III addressing the original owner. This letter emphasizes that “[C.F. Martin III] will select personally and have it [F-9] ready to ship on November first.” C.F. did a fine job indeed as this is the best sounding example we have come across. Included is the original letter and the original hardshell case.
