Description

C. F. Martin Guitars has been "writing the book" on superb acoustic guitars for 178 years. So Martin's culture is steeped in tradition. But bracing, sizing, wood and construction innovations that they developed over the past century and a half were hardly "traditional" at the time.

In keeping with Martin's tradition of being dedicated to innovation, they have developed for the 21st century acoustic musician the new and remarkable Performing Artist Series.

The new Grand Performance body size is larger & deeper than the 000/OM, smaller than the Dreadnought. The body is built of solid East Indian Rosewood with a solid Sitka Spruce top, solid Ovangkol binding, and pearl rosette. Martin has developed a new fast neck shape for the series and a smaller bridge for more top resonance. Ebony fretboard (1-3/4" nut, 25.4" scale) with white pearl and blue paua shell arrows and squares inlay pattern, new block letter logo inlay on peghead, gold enclosed tuning gears

. Martin's new Performing Artist Series features the new Fishman F-1 Aura pickup system, with unobtrusive but powerful side mounted onboard controls. Far more than a simple pickup system, the F1 Aura Pickup system blends the signal from a Martin Gold Plus transducer with one of 9 microphone sound images. Controls include separate 3-band EQs for pickup and sound image, volume & blend, compressor, phase control, anti-feedback filter with up to 3 notches, and a chromatic tuner. In short, it's everything that you need to be in complete control of your onstage sound. Coupled with the tonewood selection, this is truly a huge step forward for amplified acoustic guitar.

The Performing Artist GPCPA1, model blends the best of a dreadnought and an orchestral guitar. Martin brown flattop hardshell case included. This is a truly beautiful and amazing guitar.
