Description

Offered here is a lovely OM-42 Koa built by Martin in 2005. This 000-sized 14 fret guitar is equipped with a Sitka Spruce top; figured Koa back and sides; scalloped X bracing; style 45 cosmetics; a low profile neck with 16" radius and 25.4" scale; 1.75" bone nut; a bone saddle with 2.25" string spacing; and gold Waverly tuners.

This instrument plays oh so nicely and the tone nice and open, clear and shimmery. Check out the provided sound sample and I think you will concur. It is a joy to play too, with 12th fret string heights of 6/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side. If you prefer an even lower setup, this guitar comes with a replacement compensated bone drop-in saddle which will bring the action down another notch.

This well-preserved beauty is an amazing piece of sonic art. While over a decade old, this guitar remains in excellent condition. It sports just few very tiny imperfections which are really difficult to see, even close up (see photos) and a bit of light scratching on the headstock from string changes. The frets are in superb condition as well. The top has aged nicely to the color of Cedar. It comes with it's original Geib style TKL case, also in very nice condition.

Martin hasn't made this model as part of their standard production since 2008. This is a very special OM that is guaranteed to please. Make this beautiful Martin yours today!
