Description

Offered here is a Martin OMC-41 Richie Sambora built in 2006 and in unplayed condition. This is guitar number 81 of the less than 200 examples built.

The OMC-41 RS is a 000-sized, 14-fret sized guitar. It has a 25.4" string scale, 1-11/16" wide bone nut and a 2-1/8" string spacing. The top is made of Italian Spruce and the back and sides are made of Madagascar Rosewood. It has a fast, low profile neck shape combined with a soft body cutaway for easy access to the upper frets. Per the artist's request, Martin bestowed this model with a variety of cosmetic upgrades, including: a Stauffer-style Ebony bridge; a Style 45 Rosette and back purfling; Style 41 top inlays; a torch inlay for the headstock; hexagonal abalone and MOP inlays for the fingerboard; fossilized ivory/pearl bridge pins; Martin Gold Plus Natural 1 passive electronics; and a special gloss sunburst finish.

The OMC-41 RS will appeal to players who frequently alternate between acoustic and electric guitars. The fast neck and relatively narrow nut width make playing this guitar quite easy and natural for electric guitar players. It is nicely setup for easy flat-picking with 12th fret string heights of 7/64" on the low E side and 6/64" on the high E side, with lots of saddle remaining. It's Italian Spruce top and Madagascar body give it a clear and rich voice that is immediately familiar as a Martin.

This gorgeous instrument appears to have been purchased a decade ago and then put away until now. It shows virtually no evidence of play. It comes in it's similarly mint Geib-style Martin case along with the original paperwork and it ships in it's original Martin shipping carton.

These guitars were retailed for $7K when they were last offered, but this as new collector piece can be had for thousands less. Truly a "time machine" example of this rare Martin model. Make it yours!
