Description

This OMCPA4 is a fine example of this next generation of Martin acoustic technology which combines modern guitar specifications with the famous Martin quality and sound; the OMCPA4 is the orchestra model cutaway glossy top version with Fishman Premium Blend electronics. This particular guitar was made in 2011, according to its serial number (1505538), so its solid tonewoods are thoroughly seasoned and at their resonant best. The OMCPA4 is a superb American-made acoustic guitar with Martin’s 21st-century electronics at a more affordable price (about $1900 MSRP) than the D-28 and beyond.

This model features a solid sapele mahogany back and sides in a satin finish with black binding and a glossy finish solid Sitka Spruce top. Structurally, it has a dovetail neck joint and the X-braced top has scalloped braces. With its tortoise pick guard, multi-stripe rosette, black belly-style bridge with white black-dot pins and compensated saddle, black fingerboard with off-set pearl-dot inlay, hardwood headstock overlay with raised gold foil logo, and enclosed chrome Martin tuners, this is the picture of a quality guitar--topped off, of course, with the C. F. Martin name on the headstock which says it all!

The playability and sound verify the quality promised by the name. The body dimensions are a bit smaller than those of most dreadnoughts: it has a 14/20-fret fingerboard, a fingerboard width of 1 3/4” at the nut and 2 1/8” at the 12th fret, and the deep cutaway to afford easy access to the entire fretboard. The Martin dovetail neck joint and scalloped spruce bracing of the top combine with the great strength of sapele mahogany to allow for thinner, more responsive tonewoods, making for the rich, bright sound characteristic of the DCPA4. The modified low-profile neck is fast and comfortable, which is good because you won’t want to put it down for hours, and with the Fishman F1 Analog electronics you can jam with anybody in any venue.

This Martin OMCPA4 guitar is in very good playing condition, as you could expect of a 2011 Martin: straight neck, no visible fret wear, flat top, solid bridge, tight tuners, and so on, with the action set up at a comfortable 3/32” at the 12th fret low E. There is a virtually invisible professionally repaired crack in the back and a bit of chipping around the binding, but cosmetically, it’s in very good shape. The beautiful finish on the back and sides is in very good condition, and above all there’s the Martin logo certifying that it was born and bred in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

The original hard shell Martin case is perfectly proportioned for the OM size. The hardware all works perfectly, and the familiar plush interior is in good shape, as seen in the pictures. While the top shows a little wear, it still offers great protection for this excellent guitar.

Buyer pays a flat rate of $55.00 for insurance and shipping to the lower 48 states; shipping costs elsewhere will be negotiated as necessary. Payment by Paypal is preferred; cashier’s checks are acceptable, but checks must clear before the guitar will be shipped.

I believe that I have described this instrument fully and accurately. Please check out the pictures and ask any questions you might have before offering to buy it, as its return will not be accepted unless it can be shown that it was egregiously misrepresented in this listing.

Thank you for your interest in this cool guitar.

Payments by Paypal, cashier’s checks, money orders, or personal checks are acceptable, but all payments must clear my bank before the guitar will be shipped. I will CONSIDER reasonable offers, even including installment payments and trade-ins, but generally since I already attempt to price my guitars very competitively, unusual deals must be unusually sweet.

From henceforth [that's how retired English teachers talk], insurance and shipping to the lower 48 states is $55 due to constantly rising shipping costs unless a specific listing says otherwise; shipping costs elsewhere will be negotiated as necessary. I have sold guitars to Russia, Japan, Australia, and over 50 other countries, as well as almost every state in the USA. Since some of my guitars travel thousands of miles, I take care to use lots of packing materials, protect the neck inside the case, and of course de-tune the strings.

I make every effort to describe and illustrate each guitar and case with scrupulous accuracy. However, many of my instruments are well-played vintage items which are many years old, and I am not a luthier. One should assume that any guitar will require some set-up to satisfy your personal requirements, and that not every flaw or ding will be seen/recognized/described in the listing. Thus the return of an instrument will not be accepted unless it can be shown that it was egregiously misrepresented in this listing. Please read the listing carefully, check out the pictures, and ask any questions you might have before offering to buy.
