1930's Martin - Paramount Style L Tenor Guitar VG + Quite Rare - Made by Martin for Paramount in both six string and tenor configurations. Classic mid thirties Martin stye shaded top that has had some modifications. We greatly doubt the sound hole is original and there is evidence of a pickup of some sort residing under the bridge at one time. But that soundhole may contribute to the unusual amount of low end this thing has for a tenor guitar. Well it's also pretty large at just shy of 16" across the back at the lower bout. It's good and loud with plenty of punch. The coloring on the Adirondack spruce top is classic early thirties. Nice straight grain Brazilian rosewood for the back and sides. Rare original pickguard and attachment hardware is odd but we think original. (This is a Paramount, remember, not a Martin) The headstock proudly states the Paramount Name in heavenly splendor. Planet tuning pegs work fine. The tailpiece is probably not original. Lovely shape to the heel.
