What a cool guitar! A 1934 Martin R-18 archtop in great playing condition and with all the vintage patina and mojo you could want. While Pre-War Martin flattops command sometimes staggering prices, Martin archtops of the same era era are quite reasonably priced. If you’re into country blues, Western swing, or other styles that cry out for a vintage archtop, this is your ticket.
The action of this guitar is excellent, but we do not believe its ever had a neck reset, or any other repairs for that matter. Lots of playing wear, finish scratches, and small dings, and as would be expected, including some areas where the finish has been worn through (see pictures), but overall the guitar presents well as a vintage instrument.
To find a fine playing, good looking Pre-War Martin in all original condition with no repairs is unusual. This is a fantastic piece of Martin history that you can play for decades to come. What more could you want?
