This is a 1904 Martin Style 7 presentation grade bowel back mandolin in excellent original condition. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that the Style 7 is arguably the most intricately built, engraved and inlayed instrument Martin ever made. The back consists of 42 Brazilian Rosewood fluted ribs with ivory inlay between each one, inlayed symmetrical pick guard, elaborate pearl inlay around the top and rosette, vine fingerboard inlay, engraved tailpiece cover and tuners, and spectacular pearl inlay around the sides and neck joint. Beautifully mitered rosewood veneer on the sides. A real work of art. Impossible to replicate today. I have many more pictures I will be happy to send out to anyone interested.
I accept Visa, MC, Amex and cashiers and personal checks and Paypal.
