Offered for sale;

Used 1958 Martin Tiple T-15 serial number 163157.

This instrument is in very good condition. The neck angle and frets are fine. Cosmetically there is an abundance of patina, “nicks & marks” show this Tiple has enjoyed a full and active career.

At some point in our Tiple’s life it took a hit on the bass side cracking the mahogany. There was also a not so uncommon split on the back. We revived it and the patient is now thriving.

A tiple (English pronunciation: /ˈtipəl/ ; Spanish pronunciation: \ˈtē(ˌ)plā\ , literally or ) is a plucked-string of the family. A tiple player is called a tiplista. The first mention of the tiple comes from musicologist Pablo Minguet e Irol in 1752. Although many variations of the instrument, the tiple is mostly associated with , and is considered the national instrument. Traditionally a 4 course 12 string instrument.

The Martin Tiple was developed around 1920 somewhat based on an Argentinian model. Using an obsolete ¼ size guitar pattern it was built as a 4 course 10 string. Tuned B, F#, D, A like the high 4 strings of a guitar capoed at the 7th fret. The octave down strings in the middle give it a huge sound.

Easy to play, easy to love and like nothing else you’ve ever heard. Put a new twist on your favorite tunes and your originals

Gig bag included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
