1955 Marvel SIngle Pickup Sunburst

Summary: Marvel first showed their solid electric body guitars to the public at the 1948 NAMM show. This Marvel Bass is made in the USA, has a massive neck, tons of patina and a really solid round thumping tone. This is a really fun bass to play, we have it strung up with flatwound strings and the frets are in great shape. As far as we can tell it is all original and has been played quite a bit in its life.

Body: Light weight solid body with 2 cutaways & lots of natural wear from age.

Neck: This bass has a super fat baseball neck that really feels great if you like a big neck. 20 frets, black dot inlays, open back tuning keys.

Pickups/Hardware: Original open back tuning keys, chrome hardware, 1 single pickup with 1 volume knob & one tone knob. The knobs are cool & look to be very old school. The original Marvel logo is still there on the headstock.

Cosmetics: This old bass shows lots of wear from age with dings all over the place & lots of the finish is worn off.

Playability: This baby has a huge fat neck and the action is pretty high but we have it strung up with a set of flatwound strings & it actually plays pretty good.
