This is a masterpiece tube preamplifier made by Mark Sampson, which was inherited from Bad Cat!
Like the MATCHLESS amps, it is completely point-to-point hand-wired inside. It has a full-fledged crunch sound with just the right amount of distortion, and the clean is also excellent. (The gain is also sufficient, so too much gain will cause feedback.) Although a reissue version was released in recent years, this is the original model without the "Hot Box" logo, which is very rare nowadays.
