p>McPherson Guitars has made a strong, indelible name in the guitar world as an innovative company unafraid to break away from long-standing building traditions. They've done this by not only introducing eye-catching design features that make actual tonal sense. They've also crafted instruments to a level of perfection and precision rivaled only by brands like Collings and Taylor.

This super rare 2007 MG 4.5XP represents all that is best in a McPherson. The offset sound hole, cantilevered neck joint, and over/under bracing pattern are signature features that have not changed in decades and what draw many of today's finest players into the McPherson fold.  The piece de resistance, however, is one of the most eye-catching, exquisitely figured sets of Brazilian rosewood we've seen on any modern guitar. A recent appraisal of this guitar from McPherson basically states that, assuming they could even source this quality of Brazilian again, the price tag to rebuild this masterpiece would be in the $25K range. Paired with an Adirondack spruce top, this MG delivers on both the finger style and flat picking fronts. Volume and headroom when you need it and  balance and clarity for more articulate pieces.

The condition is flawless and the action and playability are perfect.
