1980 Memphis-Branded L-5 Copy from the Lawsuit-Era!

Such a great example of what Gibson was going up against! This is a very high-grade Memphis EL-300 that was made in the Matsumoku factory along with the other Japanese models/brands Epiphone, Aria Pro, Memphis etc. This is a very fine guitar that has been restored to a very playable grade. It has had the truss rod replaced, refret, jack replaced, and the treble side of the neck binding and tiny piece on bass side replaced. All was done in a very professional way and looks and functions great.

The guitar is essentially a combination of a Super 400 style neck with L-5-size body. Gibson Super V CES anyone? The guitar has some wear, finish checking and dings as shown in the photos. The tortoise pickguard is shrinking a bit as per usual. It is not a mint piece, but it is very presentable and functions exceptionally well. It sounds great and strong plugged in. No case, but it will be packed very well. Get a very fine Japanese Lawsuit-era archtop for under $2k!
