Offered for sale:
Used c1983 Mesa Boogie Mark II C+ Amp Head serial number 11147.
This one-owner amp head is in very good, fully functional without issue, cosmetically there is some front panel wear on and around the EQ section.
It was born a Mark II C. In 1984 the original owner sent it back to Boogie for the “+” upgrade which was done by Mike Bendinelli. His initials are on the back. At that time the head was removed from its original cabinet and installed in a rack mount road case.
The early Mesa Boogie Mark Series amps were quite a big hit, there are many players that feel the peak of the early designs was the Mark IIC+. Featuring a more sensitive lead channel with a dual cascading drive stage, compared to the Mark IIA and IIB with a single-stage drive circuit. The IIC+ also had an improved effects loop. Unlike earlier Mark II models, pedals configured for instrument-level input signal could be used without the amp's signal overloading their inputs.
This model can often bring a premium above the price of the Mark IIC and Mark III amps that immediately preceded and superseded them.
The Mark IIC+ is denoted as a C+ because of a + sign added by hand in black marker above the A/C power cord on the back of the chassis. Also, the front control panel says “Pull Deep” above the Master 1 control, rather than “Gain Boost”. It has been said that some amps originally built as IICs may have had the “+” added when returned to the factory for upgrades, we now know that to be the case with this unit as it says “Gain Boost” yet has the hand written + sign.
This Mark IIC+ features some options that Mesa offered, the base 60-watt head was upgraded with reverb, graphic EQ, and a 100-watt output stage with SimulClass which is a simultaneous use of Class A and Class A/B tube pairings, or one or the other independently.
This amp is a powerhouse and tone machine rolled into one. Own an icon!

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
