Up for sale, a 1970's Mitchell Pro-100 tube amplifier head in excellent condition and in good working order. This vintage tube head is an interesting footnote to the Mesa Boogie legacy, as the amp was an unauthorized offshoot of the original Mark I design, with essentially the same features, tone stack, transformers, and output. Production on the Mitchell amps was quickly stopped for obvious reasons, yet the examples which survive remain a viable and tonally rich alternative to a Boogie Mark I.

Stocked with a matched quad of JJ 6L6 power tubes, the Pro-100 is switchable from 100 to 60 watts, with a three-band EQ, dual Volume controls and a Master. With push/pull Bright and Gain settings, as well as a rear Presence control and low/high gain switch, there's plenty of versatility on tap with the Pro-100, and the thick, churning gain of an early Boogie is at your fingertips. The cleans are detailed and powerful, with the kind of kick and smoothness that defined early Boogie sounds. Of course the gain delivers the singing midrange and gobs of gain you'd expect, with harmonic richness and a top end that can be sweet, strident, or anything in between with the turn of a knob or two.

Cosmetically, this amp is very clean, with original smooth black tolex, nickel corners, original handle, and stock witch hat knobs. The faceplate graphics are in great shape as well and the tolex and grill show only a few minor scuffs and snags.
