One of kind heirloom instrument.
The top is Red Spruce harvested in NY state in 2005 then air dried over 10 years.
The back and sides are old Brazilian rosewood. Great smell, great tap tone. Some spider-web figure on the top side.
All bracing is torrefied Sitka spruce. Tapered. Hot hide glue.
The bridge plate is Macacauba.
Mahogany blocks. Traditional dovetail neck joint.
The fretboard is new old-stock Martin Brazilian rosewood. With abalone dot markers.
The bridge is a re-purposed Martin bridge from 1971. Brazilian rosewood. 2 5/16" string spacing. Slotted bridge with unlslotted Ebony pins. The saddle is Ivory.
The nut is bone. 1 3/4" spacing.

Nitro lacquer finish on the top.
French polish shellac on the B & S.
I generally use old Martin specs for bracing as well as some modern techniques. There are two small braces between the neck block and the large #1 brace. As well as small small braces along the soundhole. This setup helps to prevent the top from caving in to string tension thus requiring a neck reset. I've built close to 30 instruments with almost zero body movement in this area.
I also use a different radius for each back brace. Flatter on the upper bout.
My guitars do not have a factory finish. I am constantly experimenting with new finishes and techniques. My finishes are thin for optimum resonance. As of now I'm using a thin Nitro lacquer finish on the top and a hand applied shellac for the back and sides. Or I can do shellac on the entire instrument. The French polished shellac is very labor intensive but very organic for both the builder and the player. It has a more vintage vibe right out of the box.
