Our neighbors to the North in Vancouver, Canada bring us this brilliant, hand-crafted bit of luthierie gold. If you're not familiar with Morgan guitars, don't feel bad, it's not exactly what you would call a "household name." In fact, only producing around 100 guitars per year, owning one puts you into an echelon of elite players and performers that includes the likes of Sarah McLachlan and the Crash Test Dummies, just to name a couple.
This, their Concert Cutaway "Sarah" model features the classic union of a solid spruce top and indian rosewood back and sides, with an ebony fretboard adorning the mahogany neck. All of this comes together to give you a particularly singing tone accompanied by big, clear lows and great percussive attack.
True to it's body type, this guitar responds to your playing dynamics wonderfully. You get fantastic note definition with fingerpicking, and a great, shimmery wall of sound when you dig in and strum. This guitar is truly a treat to play and hear.
The only blemish is a finish crack that crosses the endpin/output jack area. It's a sad thing to see, but it is purely cosmetic. And because of that, you get a great deal!
