1963 Mosrite Side Jack Ventures Mark I Bass Sunburst, Excellent, Original Hard, $2,799.00

Historically significant and super rare early 1963 Mosrite Ventures Model Bass serial number 5041 with later Mosrite hard shell case. Early fixed neck bound Ventures bass with side mounted input or side jack. Some data indicates Mosrite basses start with serial number 5000, making this one number 41. At this time Semi was only offering this rare bound variant in a one pickup configuration. After buying this fixed neck bound side jack variant new it was sent back to the factory several years later to be converted into a two pickup version as it wasn’t offered in earlier production. According to Artie Nissen Mosrite authority at this time it was common for Semi Moslely to take instruments refurbished and up graded them to make them into the most recent version of that years model. This one was fitted with two of the first logo version Mosrite pickups, a set of the new duck feet logo tuners and a toggle switch. All original electronics have been factory re done by Semi, pot dates are early 63 all solder joints look factory and correct, routing looks typically crude and totally correct. Under bridge cover are extra screw holes from missing original not visable. A very nice all original condition 8 or better, it’s reassuring to see vintage instruments this rare, this clean and all original. Possibly the first two pickup Mosrite bass certainly one of a few if not the only double pickup side jack bass factory modified in existance.
