Offered for sale;
Used MXR Phase 90 c1981. This pedal is in good condition, fully functional, cosmetically showing playing wear. This is a great sounding pedal.
The Phase 90, released in 1974, was the first pedal sold by MXR and helped launch the company. The original version had the MXR logo written in “script”. In 1977 MXR changed its logo to the current "block" logo. There were also some changes in the circuitry at that time. Production ceased when MXR went bankrupt in 1984. Jim Dunlap bought the MXR brand and brought the Phase 90 back into production.
This effect has found its way into many recordings, adding a shimmery velocity to lead passages or a more dramatic swoosh to muted strumming. This effect also works well with bass, keyboards and even vocals. Vary the speed from a subtle, long cycle to a fast, warble and myriad vintage vibrations in between.
There have been circuit revisions both by MXR and Jim Dunlop. Currently there are several versions available including new units that revisited the original circuit designs.
Own an early version of this classic pedal. Great sound, great price!
*Please note: We do our best giving descriptions of our used items. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
*This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.
