Description

One of the coolest guitars on the planet and certainly one on my favorites of all time. A real “hippie guitar” of the 70’s! Think Greatful Dead, Neil Young, Bob Dillan, Crosby Stills and Nash, etc!
According to the guitar’s history, passed down from owner to owner, this guitar was made in Greenwich Village, New York C. 1974 at the Guitar Lab. The Guitar Lab, run under the supervision of Charlie Lobue, was a Mecca for guitar builders and guitar enthusiasts at that time.
This guitar is styled after a 1972 Alembic Series II. It was probably built by one of the dozen or so people associated and who worked at the Guitar lab such as; Carl Thompson, Steve Blucher, Bob Sindorf, Larry Dimarzio, Dave Hill etc.
This guitar features Gibson patent pickups, Shaller tuners and a Gibson patent bridge; all items usually found on Lobue Guitar Lab guitars. Furthermore the wiring is pure Dimarzio with the push / pull pots and coil taps. The electronics where way ahead of its time.
Body and neck are solid mahogany construction with a set neck and ebony fret-board. Gibson humbuckers and nice pearl inlays on fret-board and body. Beautiful wood inlay on top with super stylish brass pick guard and brass accents make her a very special lady! She is a killer!!!
The pots are MCI co. and date 1974. Excellent condition over all with normal aging and normal wear to metal parts. Frets are all excellent and original. Original form fitting case with hand painted peace sign is also excellent.
She is a very comfortable guitar that is very nicely aged. She is a real sweetheart!

Because of the delicate nature of electronics and the possibility of parts swapping, all electric guitars are sold as is. I am not one of those people who makes it a habit of dissecting their guitars and photographing their guts: Only in a rare occasion, if the guitar merits it. Acoustic guitars (with the exception of items with the words “as is” in their descriptions, discounted items or guitars that have had work done on them or have damage) are returnable for credit minus PP&I and restocking fee.. Terms of return for acoustic guitars: Acoustic guitars may be returned for immediate credit towards another guitar of higher price (25%+, excluding marked down prices) plus postage and packing fees (all returns subject to a 15% restocking fee.) PP&I fees are not refundable and guitar must be posted back within 24 business day hours and must be received in the same packaging and in the same condition as sent. Lay-a-way available on higher priced: 50% deposit of total immediately down and balance paid within 30 days or deposit forfeited. No returns on lay-a-ways.
