1954 Oahu Lap Steel

Very good condition featuring symmetrical body with black finish, yellow painted faux fingerboard with vertical Oahu logo, three per side on a strip Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with black plastic buttons, Oahu logo plate on the front of the peghead, serial number plate on the back of the peghead, single pickup, one volume control and one tone control with cream knobs, attached cable with 1/4" end, and original brown soft shell case.

This 1954 Oahu lap steel is in overall very good cosmetic condition showing some scuffs and dings in the finish, rust spots on the metal pickup cover/bridge/tailpiece plate, and stickers on the fingerboard (see photos). Both knobs have been cracked and repaired in the past and are now structurally stable and fully functional. This is a fine sounding instrument that is a great choice for several styles of play. The clean tone is ideal for both Hawaiian and early Country music and offers both mellow sweet tones as well as classic twang options. The overdriven tone is ideal for both Blues and Rock tones and the instrument plays exceptionally well in multiple tunings. This instrument is housed in its original soft shell case which shows some wear and the hinges are detached from the lid.
