Offered for sale:

Used 1993 Ovation Celebrity Deluxe CC268 serial number 465802.

This guitar is in excellent condition showing limited playing time.

The Celebrity Deluxe is made in Korea and of course features the Lyrachord bowl back. This unique synthetic material is composed of inner woven layers of fiberglass bonded together under pressure with special resins. Instead of a traditional sound hole on the top, there are 15 smaller sound holes with different diameters, which are embedded in a leaf-like epaulette. This construction actually has primarily acoustic reasons, as the goal was a top that vibrates as uniformly as possible. The top should vibrate where the sound is created - below the strings. The idea itself was / is not new - violins, violas and cellos also have resonance openings on the side. Of course, it wasn't enough to drill a few holes in the top somewhere. The whole thing had to be packaged in a cosmetically appealing way. With the epaulettes this has been achieved, creating an appealing visual design.

The figured sycamore top incorporates Quintad bracing, the neck is two pieces of matched mahogany with a rosewood finger board. Additional details include gold plated tuners, and Thinline Pickup and EQ System.

Technical features include: 25 ¼” scale length, 1 21/32” width at nut, 20 frets joining the body at the 14th, Rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5” radius and an overall weight of 5.6 lbs.

This guitar plays well and has the unique Ovation tone: solid bass, distinct midrange and clean treble.

Hard shell case included.

“We carefully inspect every instrument when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. We also do a full set up before we ship. If you decide to purchase this guitar, please let us know what gauge strings you prefer.”

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
