Vintage Ovation Tornado late 60’s

Summary: This Ovation Tornado is an incredibly resonant and responsive hollow body guitar. The slim C-shaped neck profile is comfortable and easy to navigate, while the Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is smooth and easy to maneuver. This one is sure to have you playing for hours at a time. Professionally inspected and setup by our in-house luthier.

Body: This hollow body guitar has some character and mojo! It has a double bound spruce top, maple back and sides and elegantly bound f-holes.

Neck: This instrument has a slim C profile, bolt-on maple neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, bone nut, and pearl dots. Nut width-1 11/16” Scale length-24 ½”

Pickups/Hardware: It has fully tested and great sounding humbuckers with 3-way pickup selector switch and black witch hat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume. It has all the original hardware-Kluson Deluxe tuners, a fully adjustable and intonated bridge and saddles, and a very satisfyingly smooth vibrato unit.

Cosmetics: This Ovation has been well played in. The back of the neck is super clean and smooth with no notable dings. There is a “2” burned into the back of the headstock. All the hardware is really clean and has no alarming signs of corrosion. The frets are in great shape and the neck is straight. The nitrocellulose lacquer on the body has a lot of checking and pick scratches which make this guitar look so cool! This guitar has been played a lot and the wear is a testament to how great it is. This is an exceptional example of an Ovation and it plays very well.

Playability: This guitar has been fully tested and set-up by our in house luthier and plays fabulously. It has been strung with a new set of 10’s. This guitar is hard to put down it plays so well.
