~1977 Ovation Viper Sunburst

Summary: The Ovation Viper guitars were made in the mid to late 1970’s and this one has a stunning classic sunburst finish. We just inspected this guitar & set it up with a new set of 10’s. The action is low, the truss rod is fully functional & it plays and sounds great.

Body: Solid body, single cutaway electric guitar with a beautiful sunburst finish.

Neck: Bolt on maple neck, 24 frets, black dot inlays, 25.5” scale length, 1 9/16” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: 2 Ovation single coil pickups, 3-way switch, one volume, one tone, large knobs, Ovation closed back tuning keys, ovation fully adjustable bridge, black pickguard with “Viper” logo.

Cosmetics: This 1970’s Ovation is in great shape but it does have some normal signs of wear such as pick scratching on the guard and body, a few nice sized dings around the top bout, some buckle rash on the back & a few small dings & scratches on the back. The back of the neck has a few dings up near the top behind the nut. The frets are in great shape & have a lot of life left in them.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in good shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.
