1944 Paramount Special

This 1944 Paramount Special lives up to its name, it is indeed a special guitar. For a small bodied guitar it has good volume and the tone is super sweet. The neck is a fairly substantial vintage vee, so if you’re into slim neck profiles this is not the one for you. But if you like a neck with some heft, this guitar could suit you very well. The vintage vee profile makes it much more comfortable than the typical “baseball bat” necks we see on many 40s and 50s guitars.

The headstock says Paramount but the guitar was likely made by Harmony or one of the other major manufacturers of the day. It’s hard to know for sure and we’ve not seen another one exactly like it. The guitar has no mods except for replaced tuners and a neck reset so the action is perfect. Frets are original and in good shape. Original pickguard is in perfect condition. Overall this sweet little parlor is in very good to excellent condition with no breaks and no blemishes of note.
