Description

Offered is a very rare Parker DF824 MaxxFly MIDI built in 2010. I'm told that only two of these were actually built; this Arctic Silver example and the sunburst version which appears in the video which accompanies this listing. The guitar offered here was built early in the DF824 run when this model was still called the Dragon Fly and before it was changed for legal reasons to the MaxxFly. I know little to nothing about MIDI and guitar synth technology, but I do know that in the right hands, this is an instrument that can do amazing things. Played by someone with both the guitar and technical skills of Michael Oakland (http://www.michaeloakland.com/) for example. Friends and I have seen Michael's solo performances at the Wequassett on Cape Cod. Using a Parker and/or Godin guitar similar to this one, Michael manages to sound like he has a four piece band behind him. It's incredible what he is able to do.

This DF824 MIDI is a premium set neck Parker model, in this case with an Alder body, Mahogany neck with carbon/epoxy reinforcement throughout for incredible resonance and durability. With it's HSS with coil splitting, piezo and Roland GK2 pickup layout, your only limit to the tones you can produce are your own imagination and creativity. This guitar is ultra-light (5.6 pounds), perfectly balanced and is incredibly easy to play.

You aren't likely to find another guitar quite like this one. You will have to settle for a Fly Mojo MIDI or move up to a $7K Adrian Belew to get the capabilities of this incredible guitar. While built in 2010, this guitar shows zero signs of play and could be sold as new and the stainless steel frets, like the rest of the guitar, are spotless. It comes in it's original Parker premium case with the original accessories. If electronic music and guitars are your thing, or if you just are a huge fan of Parker guitars as I am, get yourself this amazing and unique instrument.
