Description

PRS Ted McCarty DC 245 10 Top Birds Electric Guitar - Used

Description:

A killer warm and fat sounding PRS McCarty!

What we think:

This guitar really has a lovely smooth and warm response in its tone. Upon plugging it in the first thing I noticed was just how full it sounds, especially on its humbucking setting. On top of this you can easily split the coils to produce an airier and sizzling tone. The neck is very comfortable and its short scale makes for easy bending and overall playability. It's naturally fat tone makes it a great choice to pump some high gain lead tones through, and it also lends itself well to playing overdriven rhythm guitar without it becoming too harsh on the ears. Overall this guitar is great for both rhythm and lead playing and achieves a very classic sound with either its humbuckers or coil-split setting. This thing's tone is like a big warm hug to keep your ears happy, and your hands moving free!

Condition: Great. This is a well cared for and lightly played instrument. It has only minor and very expected evidence of play.

Manufacturer Description:

Ted McCarty was a pioneer of the electric guitar and musical instrument industry. In the late 1980’s, Paul Reed Smith called on Ted to consult with him on guitar design and production techniques. He not only served as Paul’s mentor but became a great friend of Paul and everyone he met at PRS. In 1994, PRS released the first McCarty, an instrument that incorporated the full spectrum of techniques and knowledge Paul had gained from Ted as well as his own experiences as a guitar builder.  It is in honor of Ted McCarty – his knowledge, his friendship, and his memory.
