Description

Offered here is yet another example of a guitar that I consider one of the most flexible and beautiful guitar designs available, a PRS Hollowbody. In this instance we have a "Singlecut I" model finished in "Violin Amber."

This is a 22 fret, 25" scale guitar and has "Artist" grade (one level above a "10") flame Maple top with a Mohogany used for the back and sides of the carved archtop body. The Mahogany neck has PRS' Wide/Fat profile (now known as their "Pattern" neck shape) and is a nice chunky C-shape. It has a dark, Rosewood fretboard with a 10" radius, a 1-11/16" nut and fancy abalone Bird inlays. The pickups are PRS' Archtop humbuckers with piezo elements built into the adjustable stoptail bridge. Controls include a three-way switch for the humbuckers, volume, tone, blend and a three way switch for the piezo system. Light weight PRS locking tuners keep you in tune and make string changes a breeze. With the optional "Artist Package" this guitar various trim upgrades, including gold hardware Ebony tuner buttons.

This instrument is completely hollow except for a very small solid piece under the bridge which connects to the top and back. It has a total weight of just 6 pounds, 3 ounces. It is a joy to play and is one of the most beautifully-built guitars on the planet.

With it's flexible electronics, there isn't much this guitar cannot do. I've seen this guitar model used for everything from jazz to rock to solo singer/songwriter duty. Multiple inputs allow you to plug into single or dual amp sources, or directly into your PA or sound board. Please check out the brief sound sample provided. This instrument gives you loads of tonal options, all in one guitar!

While built in 2008, this guitar remains in near mint condition. A tiny bit of hard to see pick haze on the bridge pickup cover is about the only flaw to be found. The frets look like new. It comes in it's original PRS archtop case along with the tools and paperwork.

These guitars are very labor-intensive and expensive for PRS to manufacture. A new example similar to this one will now cost you over $6K. Get this near mint 2008 example at a subtantial discount. Make this exquisite acoustic/electric guitar yours today!
