Many moons ago, when I barely missed a rock concert in Atlanta, I went to see Yngwie Malmsteen at the Masquerade Theater. A couple of odd things happened at that show and maybe that's why I remember them to this day. Of course, buying this Peavey Sarzo is what triggered the memory in the first place.

That night at the Malmsteen show was kinda quirky due to several things I observed. First, Yngwie was hammerjacked drunk. Piss drunk. Barrel smashed wasted and the odd thing about that is, the guy didn't miss a note all night. Not. One. Note. And, to top it off, he was throwing his guitar around and doing all of his '80s guitar god moves in man heels. That's one thing I'll never forget.

The second thing that was slightly humorous was the Spanish-looking woman in the skintight, red leather onesie that stood behind Yngwie most of the show. She had a drink in her hand and was just swaying back and forth to the music (as if you could sway back and forth to a bazillion guitar notes.) She didn't say or do a thing- just stood there swaying and smiling like a cat eating cold cuts. Maybe it was his wife or girlfriend- we never found out and never saw her at another show. Weird...

The final thing of note about that night was when the band hit the stage, I had to do a double take because over behind the bass guitar was... you guessed it- Mr. Rudy Sarzo himself. I was shocked to see him holding down bass duties for the Florida mega-shredder because last time I saw Rudy, he was licking his bass in a Whitesnake video. From Coverdale to Malmsteen- that's a stretch for anyone, but I always knew Rudy was a journeyman bass player, so I guess just when you think you've seen everything, you really ain't seen nothing.

This Peavey Sarzo is an absolute blast to play and the active Dynabass preamp, combined with the Bartolini-crafted twin soapbar pickups will give you more tones than any of us deserve. This pre-Cirrus monster has great, low action and one of the most comfortable necks you will ever put your left hand around. It has been detailed, restrung with new strings and set up to kill so when it arrives, just tune it up and get busy. The frets have also been polished and leveled.

The bass comes in a generic hardshell case that more than adequately protects it. There are a few small dings and light pick swirling on the face, but you will have to look for these. There are also a good many surface scratches on the back, but they are light and you will have to turn the bass into the reflection of an overhead light to see them. Overall, it's a clean and quality bass that will take you right back to those badass '80s, when Rock ruled the world!

Please take a look at the photos, let us know if you have any questions and as always, thanks for stopping by!
