Peluso 2247 Switchable Pattern Tube Microphone
Switchable Pattern Tube Microphone (9 Patterns) with a vintage tone
What we think:
We like to call this one the Peluso "short-body" 47. While this mic does not have quite the incredible detail and subtle warmth as his LE version (Peluso 2247 LE), Peluso has created an incredibly affordable tube microphone that captures a lot of the original coloration and sonic characteristics (nice round low-end and low-mids) that made the original Neumann U47 so famous.
If your budget can swing the Peluso 2247 LE, your money will be well spent. If it can't, you'll be hard pressed to find a better rendition of the 47 that is even remotely as well priced as this little guy. For under $1,300, this is a microphone that will add a color that most project studios have never before been able to afford.
The Peluso 22 47 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone styled after the legendary "Neumann U-47". The Peluso 22 47 is equipped with a glass triode tube. In the 1970's German radio modified the original U-47 incorporating this glass style tube to conform to broadcast standards. This tube helps the 22 47 achieve its high gain and low noise floor. Our tubes are thoroughly tested and fully covered by our 3-year warranty. Professional engineers enjoy great success with the 22 47 for a wide range of applications. The 22 47 is know for its smooth sound, high gain and low noise floor. There are countless applications for this versatile microphone.
The 22 47 is paired with the Peluso MX-56 power supply. The dual sided capsule in the 22 47 enable the power supply to feature 9 polar patterns in an array from omni-directional to cardioid to figure eight.
The 22 47 comes with a 7-conductor cable with standard 7 pin XLR connector.
