Description

Petros Tunnel 13 Ltd Edition Guitar (used, 2009)

  • This guitar is one of the rare, Tunnel 13 series guitars crafted by Petros Guitars. It is #7.
  • It has one of the salvaged Redwood Tunnel 13 tops from John Tepper. These tops came from old Redwood supports of the notorios Tunnel 13 railroad tunnel.
  • Claro Walnut back & sides
  • Butternut neck
  • Elaborate Tunnel 13 and abalone rosette with "1800" and "Tunnel 13" engravings
  • Abalone top trim
  • Pearwood fretboard and body bindings
  • Special pattern inlaid on the bridge wings, and this theme forms the back center strip as well. This same pattern is engraved into the truss rod cover and it part of the rosette.
  • Gold Gotoh tuning machines with Engraved tuner buttons
  • Clear pickguard
  • This guitar is lively and light in weight. It is easy to play and sounds wonderful. It has an interesting history in the vintage Redwood top.

  • Here's a brief except from Bruce Petros' page in his own words:

    • Basically this is virgin redwood used in Tunnel 13 built in 1880. This was the location of the Last Great American Train Robbery in 1926. When it caved in in 2003, Petros guitars acquired a bunch of the best wood and turned it into guitar sets. It is the glassiest, stiffest tone wood we have ever used and makes an exceptional instrument.
