Description

This Phantom Teardrop Hollow Body Bass serial number 567 is in near mint condition. Cosmetically and functionally this is a beautiful instrument, no issues what so ever.

We don’t often quote the manufacturers descriptions of instruments as we prefer to research and write our own, however regarding this particular instrument we would like to share the details directly from Phantom Guitarworks : “All of our Teardrop bodies are made of solid mahogany; the hollow body Teardrop features a Maple top. Our necks are crafted out of some of the finest hard-rock maple found anywhere. Our fingerboards are beautifully and skillfully made from the most beautiful Indian rosewood, and the high-gloss yellowed finish that protects each of our instruments; is both beautiful and functional. All Phantom®, Teardrop® and MandoGuitars® are hand assembled in the United States of America with foreign and domestic parts. Each guitar we build is hand-wired with silver soldier, and all of the pickups and hardware we use are proprietary in nature; all in an effort to replicate the look, overall charm, and feel, of the original 1960's instruments.”

This is not only a unique bass, but a great player as well. The tinted slim profile maple neck features a 32 ½” scale length, 1 ½” nut width, white acrylic dot inlays and chrome tuning machines. The slim profile and nut width make this extremely easy to move around, especially for players with small hands or thumb-wrap style players. The bass as a whole is very light and has a nice balance. The wine red finish, cream binding, and black pickguard give this bass a very classic look while the unconventional shape and f hole give a ton of character. The simple controls make it very easy to dial in, especially when the pickups sound great in every position. For the money, it’s hard to beat this bass’s great aesthetic and tonal character.

Hard shell coffin style case included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
*This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.
*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.
