Ordered with level 2 distressing, this Pre-War Dreadnought packs a lot of visual punch to go along with its huge voice. Inspired by a well-loved mid-30s mahogany Dreadnought, the Pre-War D features a scalloped-braced red spruce top, mahogany back and sides, hide glue construction, ebony fingerboard and bridge, tortoise bindings and beveled pickguard, a chunky 1930’s neck carve, and, of course, a well-aged lacquer finish.
The guitar presents really well, with moderately heavy aging that’s not overdone. Most everyone who sees it is stopped in their tracks. It’s a great looking machine.
Fabulously big tone with incredible woody dryness, huge headroom, awesome bass presence and lots of whoomph. It’s a flat-picker’s dream and responds really well to a big heavy pick.
Rounded V neck carve with 1-3/4” nut, 25.4” scale and 2-5/16” string spread at the bridge.
