Carlos Santana's longstanding creative partnership with Paul Reed Smith has done much to shape the destiny of PRS guitars; over the years, the pivotal alliance between the two has been honored by creating this stunning Santana Retro model.
Several unique design elements are reintroduced on this model: a deeper body carve, original style heel and the original headstock and nut placement. The carved figured maple top resonates perfectly with the mahogany body, as well as the smooth Brazilian rosewood fingerboard complete with the Santana-style PRS bird inlays. At the neck, the Santana bass pickup produces deep warm lows and cutting yet controlled highs, while the 58/15 treble pickup gives a sweetened vintage tone - both emitting seemingly unending sustain.
This Santana Retro comes in a mysteriously attractive violet burst, wrapped in a gorgeous light binding with stark nickel hardware to contrast its body finish perfectly. The bridge boasts a PRS patented Gen III tremolo system for quick access and amazing capability, while keeping the tone of the Santana models pure.
